As we enter the final three months of the school year, we arrive at an important moment for reflection and renewed focus. This time invites us to pause and check in on the goals we set at the beginning of the year, the supports we continue to provide, and the impact we are striving to have on student achievement across our system.

As we enter April, I want to offer an opportunity to reflect ahead of Mental Health Week, which takes place from May 4 to 10. This period encourages us to pause and consider the importance of mental health and well-being across our schools and communities.

The HWDSB is bursting with pride as Raquel of Adelaide Hoodless Elementary School takes centre stage as JUNO’s Music Educator of the Year, presented by MusiCounts! Her infectious passion, innovative teaching, and unwavering belief in her students have created a music program that truly rocks. 

This national honour celebrates the life‑changing power of music education—and the incredible impact Raquel continues to have on learners across our board.
